Google can now buy and sell energy in bulk thanks to approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). However, Internet giant Google doesn’t have plans to sell energy to consumers or anyone else.  Google plans to use its FERC certification in order to manage its own energy supplies as efficiently as possible. I suppose it does take quite a bit of energy to run the world’s largest search engine!  If you think your power bill is high, imagine the energy required to run all of those servers.

The Bill Would:

Have Dire Economic and Environmental Consequences

Allowing the return of yard trimmings back to landfills would be devastating to small businesses engaged in composting/mulching and recycling programs. The landscaping industry has already suffered significant job losses as a result of the economy and the drought. More jobs would be lost and others would not be created if the state reverses its decision on the ban.

Lovers of fresh produce, colorful flowers, and delicious baked goods can double their pleasure this year at the Suwanee Farmers Market. In addition to its traditional Saturday morning hours, the Suwanee market also will be open Tuesday evenings.
“Our farmers are excited to be able to offer fresh produce twice a week through the Suwanee market,” says Events Coordinator Amy Doherty. “Now, those residents who enjoy sleeping in on the weekend have a chance to enjoy fresh, in-season produce, too, on Tuesday evenings.”

Southface and The Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association (GAHBA) named WicksteadWorks its 2010 Renovator of the Year during an award ceremony held January 29 at Philips Arena’s Horizon Club. It is the second straight year the Atlanta-based remodeler has earned this honor.
