First Arts Organization in the Country with LEED Gold Headquarters
It’s official! Atlanta Ballet’s new, “green” headquarters – the Michael C. Carlos Dance Centre – has received LEED Gold certification, the second highest rating awarded for sustainable building construction. The Centre will grand open with a weekend of festivities August 14.
LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design and is the internationally recognized stamp of approval from the U.S. Green Building Council.
The building, almost twice the size of its West Peachtree Street predecessor, will be the permanent home for the …

New Story of Stuff Project movie takes on the $50 billion beauty industry [Video]

According to Southeast Green:
in anticipation of soon-to-be-introduced Congressional legislation to regulate personal care products – The Story of Stuff Project will release The Story of Cosmetics, a 7-minute animated movie, at www.storyofcosmetics.org. Hosted by Annie Leonard, the creator of the viral video hit The Story of Stuff, the film was co-produced by the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, a national coalition of over 150 women’s, environmental and health organizations, and Free Range Studios.
