Get Up to Date with the Latest in Green Building Technologies at SBS 2009 June4-6
The 2009 Southern Building Show has a heavy focus on green building to cater to the high demand of Atlanta home builders that are interested in learning more about the industry.
First off, there is an entire aisle on the show floor devoted to green building products and services. Appropriately titled the “Green Aisle,” this is your one-stop shop to get more information about the different energy-efficient, water-conserving, solar-consuming and wind-utilizing products (as well as the other green products out there) available for new home construction. Remember that all of these products will reduce the monthly utility bills for your homeowners as well as qualify you for some green building tax credits.
Once you are done on the show floor, hop on the bus to check out the two showcase projects this year. One of the projects is a new home that is being constructed to exceed the standards of EarthCraft certification, and the other project is a LEED certified home renovation. These are two exceptional examples of how green features can be incorporated into existing homes or new homes, and you’ll get to see first hand how they look and what they add to the home.
Lastly, be sure to check the speaking schedule and make plans to attend the educational sessions on green building. You have your pick from a variety of green education sessions including:
- “Building Green for the New Market” with Steve Easley presenting
- “Green Building Basics” with Matt Hoots presenting
- “Green from the Ground Up – Creating Truly Sustainable New Homes and Renovations” with Carl Seville presenting
- “Greening Your Bottom Line through Energy Efficiency, Solar Energy and Green Technologies” with Subrato Changra and Stephanie Thomas-Rees presenting
- Green Build Panel
- “So You’re Green, Now What?” with James B Hackler presenting
If you aren’t registered to attend the 2009 Southern Building Show, what are you waiting for? There is much to learn about the Atlanta home building industry, including the latest in green building, and the SBS the place to learn it.
