Naturalist-led Canoe Trips

Saturdays 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM until Aug 29, 2009
Experience aquatic life on the Chattahoochee River up close and personal. Each trip is led by CNC naturalists, and offers a unique introduction to the ecology of the Chattahoochee River. Participants are expected to be an active part of this program. Register at scheduling@chattnaturecenter.com or (770) 992-2055 ext. 237. Hemlockfest Celebrates Fifth Anniversary Saving the Environment

The Fifth Annual Hemlockfest Music Festival will be held November 6-8 at Starbridge Retreat near Dahlonega, Ga.  Festival organizers are celebrating this grassroots benefit held to combat parasites which are killing  the native hemlock trees of the Blueridge Mountains.
It’s like a story from a classic 1930’s movie: some regular people discover a serious problem that affects their hometown.
