Minor water leaks waste more than a trillion gallons of water each year in U.S. homes. “In a single home, leaks can waste more than 10,000 gallons every year – enough to fill a backyard swimming pool,” said Peter Frank with Gwinnett County’s Department of Water Resources. “Gwinnett County wants to help homeowners save money on their utility bills and save water in our community and for future generations.”

As demand for authentic, verifiable green home construction practices continues its ascent, the National Green Building Standard is back on the presses for a second printing.
The standard is the first green rating system for new homes, remodeling projects and residential communities to be approved by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). The first printing was released by BuilderBooks, the publishing arm for the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), in March – and has already sold out.
