Green Awareness 5K Run/Walk from the HBA
Why not help the environment and yourself in the process…Now that is something that Georgia and Georgia Tech fans might even agree on. Bulldog fans, don’t be afraid to cross over into enemy territory…we won’t tell.
On Saturday, Sept. 12, the Homebuilders Association will host the 1st Annual Green Awareness 5K Run/Walk in conjunction with the Georgia Tech Building Construction Program. The 5K race will start at 8 a.m., and the awards ceremony will be begin immediately after the race. Race day check in will begin at 7 a.m. at the Georgia Tech Student Center, located at 350 Ferst Drive NW, Atlanta, Ga. Don’t forget to pick up your T-shirt during registration!
Early registration costs are as follows:
- Early Registration: $25, adults; $15 students; Children under 12 are free
- On-Site Registration: $35, adults, $ 15 students (Only cash will be accepted during on-site registration)
Green awareness sessions are scheduled to begin immediately after the awards ceremony. Sessions are to include green building/aging-in-place, EarthCraft House standards and ENERGY STAR certification.
A portion of the proceeds from the Atlanta 5K race will benefit HomeAid Atlanta, the HBA’s official charity. Sponsorship opportunities are still available.
