Created in 1976 by a group of Life University students with a hunger for bulk natural foods, Life Grocery was born of like minds, hands, and hearts working together. This humble birth in a tiny storefront in downtown Marietta, Georgia, set the tone for its continuous growth and expansion: the willingness of health-conscious people of diverse, multicultural backgrounds dedicating their time, talent, and energy to build an alternative grocery store. In 2002, with members exhibiting a desire to have a relaxed environment in which to sit down and enjoy delicious, nutritious, wholesome organic food, as well as fellowship with like-minded individuals, Café Life was born. Coupled with a Learning Center, Café Life truly provides an organic experience for the mind, body, and soul.

Life Grocery & Café offers a full service grocery store; a full service café, complete with catering; and a place where like-minded people can gather to purchase items that are safe for the planet, to share ideas that make the planet better, to be inspired through the Life Learning Center and make Mother Earth a place where you, your children, and your grandchildren can thrive healthfully.

Serving Atlanta and the metro area now for over 30 years, Life Grocery & Café caters to those looking to “live the green and healthy life,” with over 100 organic fresh fruits and vegetables; over 500 bulk items; over 10,000 nutritional supplements; an abundance of natural body care products, environmentally safe household products, and organic, vegan, gluten-free, and raw & living foods café selections; free lectures, focusing on alternative options including how to “green” your home, how to prepare raw and living food dishes, and how the “power of awareness” can change your life; and a classroom kitchen that offers classes from qualified chefs and instructors.

Life Grocery & Café is a natural foods co-op that offers a yearly membership, but you do not need to be a member to shop there. Membership offers discounts for all members and special discounts for college students and seniors, 62 and older. Located in Marietta, just one half mile east of the Big Chicken, in the New London Square, they are open seven days a week.

From its original storefront in the 70’s, to a cottage-size building in the 80’s, and its eventual shopping plaza “home” in the 90’s, Life Grocery and Café, will surprise you with its depth of product, fresh food, and knowledge, all wrapped up in an eco-friendly experience for those looking for healthy solutions.
