NOT PULP FICTION, THIS IS THE REAL THING! ATTACK OF THE KILLER TOMATO (FEST) HITS JCT. KITCHEN & BAR AUGUST 9
A multitude of plump tomatoes is rolling into local farmers markets, prompting us to give you a heads up on picking up tickets to a juicy event that will celebrate this beloved fruit of the vine. JCT. Kitchen & Bar will be the site of the first annual Attack of the Killer Tomato Fest to benefit Georgia Organics on Sunday, August 9 from 1-6 p.m. Atlanta’s best chefs will pair up with farmers as they hobnob with heirlooms and Romas and create tomato dishes for judging and devouring by tomato-loving guests. Top tomato talent includes Ford Fry, JCT. Kitchen & Bar executive chef and owner; Gerry Klaskala of Aria; Keira Moritz of Pacci Ristorante and AltoRex Rooftop Lounge; Kevin Maxey of Craft; Joe Truex of Repast; Steven Satterfield of Miller Union; Jay Swift of 4th & Swift; Kevin Gillespie of Woodfire Grill; David Larkworthy of 5 Seasons Brewing; Hugh Acheson of Five and Ten and The National; Scott Serpas of Serpas True Food; Hector Santiago of Pura Vida; Gerry Mennie of Livingston; Billy Allin of Cakes & Ale; Shaun Doty of Shaun’s; Linton Hopkins of Restaurant Eugene and Holeman & Finch Public House; and Anne Quatrano of Abattoir, Bacchanalia, Star Provisions, Floataway Café and Quinones.
There’ll be more than tomato juice flowing as popular mixologists from Atlanta restaurants stir up signature drinks and keep cocktail glasses full at the cash bar. Attendees can also enjoy cold beer from 5 Seasons Brewing and free Bionade, a German all-natural, organic soda.
Only 500 tickets will be available for the afternoon of food, drinks and live music and can be purchased at www.georgiaorganics.org. Tickets are $50 per person and $45 for Georgia Organics members; a $90 VIP pass covers entry and access to an open bar.
