A Show Home of Eco-Friendly Furnishings
Richard Feis of Pace Homebuilders has been involved in green home building and remodeling for years so it was a natural progression for him to build Greenhaven, Atlanta’s latest model home for green building and sustainable design.
But he went a step further from other eco-friendly builders. He’s created a show home of eco-friendly furnishings as well as environmentally sensitive building products.
“There are so many environmentally friendly things that people don’t realize they can do when they build a home or remodel. This is a great platform to showcase green building products and processes but also to demonstrate how people can decorate their homes with green products,” he said.
Located in Chelsea Landing subdivision in East Cobb County, Greenhaven will be open to the public Thursdays through Sundays through August 9. Admission is free.
The home has seven bedrooms, seven baths and seven half-baths with a unique three-level floor plan and a private entry courtyard with a water feature and sitting area. It features the latest in green building techniques, state-of-the art technology and energy efficiency.
The home is constructed using eco-friendly materials such as river reclaimed pine flooring, soybean spray insulation, chemical-free wallpaper applied with all-natural wallpaper paste and eco-friendly paints, tankless water heaters, a touch-panel energy monitoring system, high-efficiency appliances, and a whole-house grey water recycling system.
