Alpharetta Hosts Water Conservation Event
The Second Annual Alpharetta Water Conservation Festival will be held on Saturday, May 2 at Rock Mill Park, located at 3100 Kimball Bridge Road. The event will run from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM.
The event features a schedule of informative and fun workshops, including:
10:00 Farmer D. of Mother Nature Network, will give a fun and informative workshop on organic gardening and sustainable urban gardening
11:30 Louse Estabrook, UGA Cooperative Extension Agent will entertain you with her presentation on landscaping in a thirsty environment (Xeriscaping)
11:45 Stay for the test to receive Certification for Georgia’s Outdoor Water Use Certification Program. This is a must if you are over seeding or planting new landscape items.
1:00 Eve Neumeister, Master Gardener, will show how you can attract butterflies, hummingbirds and other pollinators to your yard.
2:00 Build a butterfly habitat and butterfly craft

Throughout the day experts will be providing demonstrations on topics such as detecting leaks and water waste, maintaining efficient sprinkler systems, green roof technology, rain pillows and much more. Additionally, there will be opportunities to purchase 55-gallon rain barrels and Earth Machine Composters for only $49 each. A plant sale will be held, and their will be fun and activities for children throughout the day.
