The Pulse of the Planet Kids’ Science Challenge asks kids (Grades 3 through 6) to propose an original question, problem or experiment that relates to three fields of scientific inquiry or engineering: bio-inspired design, sports on Mars, and detective or forensic science. The entries judged in each field to be the most original will win the Grand Prize for that field – a visit with the scientist or engineer to collaborate on the question or problem proposed, along with possible appearances in Kids’ Science Challenge videos and Pulse of the Planet radio programs. Additional Finalists will also be selected in each field. There are three sets of prizes, one for each category. There are grand and runner-up prizes in every category. Free activity kit for first 1000 entries!
Pulse of the Planet will be posting a wealth of educational resources and activities related to the three Scientific Fields.
Competition opens October 1, 2009 and closes February 28, 2010.
