Alpharetta: Rain Barrel and U-Fix It Workshops

Rain Barrel Workshop

The City of Alpharetta Engineering/Public Works Department of Alpharetta and Fulton County Public Works Water Services invite North Fulton residents to a rain barrel workshop.  The event will be held on Wednesday, September 16 beginning at 1:00 PM at Alpharetta’s North Park facility on Cogburn Road.

During the vent workshop participants will learn how to properly install and use a rain barrel to harvest rainwater for irrigation of lawns and plans.  This is a “make and take with you” workshop so please have a vehicle that your rain barrel will fit into.

The event cost is $35 per person, which includes the rain barrel and all supplies.  Space is limited so you must preregister by calling 678-297-6200.

U-Fix It Workshop: Identifying and Repairing Household Leaks

Alpharetta, Ga… The City of Alpharetta and Fulton County Public Works Water Services, in partnership with the Clean Water Campaign, will be hosting a “U-Fix it Workshop” to teach residents how to save money by repairing leaky appliances and fixtures.  The workshop will be held on September 16, 2009 beginning at 11:30am at the City of Alpharetta Adult Activity Center in North Park.

This workshop will cover various ways residents can repair water leaks at home. Homeowners will learn how to detect leaks and how to stop them before they worsen.
