Alpharetta: Rain Barrel and U-Fix It Workshops

The City of Alpharetta Engineering/Public Works Department of Alpharetta and Fulton County Public Works Water Services invite North Fulton residents to a rain barrel workshop.  The event will be held on Wednesday, September 16 beginning at 1:00 PM at Alpharetta’s North Park facility on Cogburn Road.
During the vent workshop participants will learn how to properly install and use a rain barrel to harvest rainwater for irrigation of lawns and plans.  This …

Alpharetta Hosts Water Conservation Event

The Second Annual Alpharetta Water Conservation Festival will be held on Saturday, May 2 at Rock Mill Park, located at 3100 Kimball Bridge Road.  The event will run from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM.
The event features a schedule of informative and fun workshops, including:

ArtFest, Farmer’s Market & Children Going Green in Alpharetta

Artists from throughout the U.S. are getting creative for the Alpharetta Arts Streetfest. This colorful festival will take place 10 am to 6 pm Saturday and Sunday, April 18-19, 2009 on Milton Avenue in the Alpharetta Historic District. Admission and parking are free to the public.

Alpharetta Encourages everyone to turn lights off

The City of Alpharetta is encouraging all residents and businesses to help raise awareness of the need to conserve energy by turning off the lights in their homes and businesses for one hour on March 28 from 8:30 until 9:30 PM.  Alpharetta is joining more than 930 cities in 80 countries to promote Earth Hour, a global campaign to raise environmental awareness.
Earth Hour is a global campaign coordinated by the World Wildlife Fund that began in Sydney, Australia in 2007, when 2 million people switched off their lights.  Worldwide participation …
