Innovative energy efficiency and renewable energy projects in Georgia are receiving $10 million in competitive grant funds through the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Competitive Grant Program administered by the Georgia Environmental Facilities Authority (GEFA).  The program, which was launched in July 2009, is funding 16 projects as a result of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

Today Gwinnett County government officials announced a comprehensive effort to promote environmentally sustainable policies and practices. The new Gwinnett Environmental Sustainability Program involves specific initiatives in 10 categories, including transportation and air quality, recycling and waste reduction, water conservation, energy efficiency and green building.
