Lovers of fresh produce, colorful flowers, and delicious baked goods can double their pleasure this year at the Suwanee Farmers Market. In addition to its traditional Saturday morning hours, the Suwanee market also will be open Tuesday evenings.
“Our farmers are excited to be able to offer fresh produce twice a week through the Suwanee market,” says Events Coordinator Amy Doherty. “Now, those residents who enjoy sleeping in on the weekend have a chance to enjoy fresh, in-season produce, too, on Tuesday evenings.”

Join a group bicycle ride to the Piedmont Park Green Market in Midtown, Peachtree Road Farmers Market in Buckhead and the Morningside Farmers Market. Artists from throughout the U.S. are getting creative for the Alpharetta Arts Streetfest. This colorful festival will take place 10 am to 6 pm Saturday and Sunday, April 18-19, 2009 on Milton Avenue in the Alpharetta Historic District. Admission and parking are free to the public.

The City of Suwanee seeks local farmers, gardeners, and others interested in participating in its 2009 Farmers Market.
Participating farmers must register in advance, grow their own produce, and be licensed and certified by the Georgia Department of Agriculture. Guidelines and an application are available at www.suwanee.com. For additional information, contact Amy Doherty at adoherty@suwanee.com or 770/945-8996.
